Running bond
A practical default for patios and walkways. It looks familiar, installs quickly, and usually stays around a 10% waste factor.
Herringbone and diagonal layouts
These patterns feel more dynamic but require more edge cuts. Plan on a 15% waste allowance for most patio layouts, especially if borders or obstacles are involved.
Basketweave and stacked bond
Basketweave creates a traditional look. Stacked bond is the cleanest modern option and often the most efficient pattern by waste.
Random and flagstone patterns
Irregular layouts bring a natural look but increase both cutting and layout time. They often need 20% waste or more depending on the product.
